Of course, this will need to be an award for one of the podcasts you have listened to. To make this process more creative, we will make up our own awards. \nI nominate Bisceglia\/Lorenzo's podcast for "Most Realistic." Not only did it feel a lot like an actual radio broadcast out of Vietnma, it used specific military terms and it felt like an actual soldier interview about a battle in Vietnam.
\n
\nLastly, I nominate Selvaggio\/Hoffman's podcast for "Most Original." They took a different take on the project than most of the rest. The podcast was about America during the time of the Vietnam War and came up with a story that differed significantly from the rest of the podcasts. The similarities your podcast showed compared to The Great One is remarkable and unquestionably TGOesque. The way you captived the audience reminded me of the time when TGO drove a 500 yard par-5 with his putter. The bravery in which Pat and Lou used to stay out of harms way reminds me of when TGO's father played on one leg during the Super Bowl. His dad not only became the first ever player to bench 1000 lbs, but also became the first ever player to play with one arm and one leg and still score a touchdown while causing multiple injuries on the opposing team. Even though The Great One is not here to celebrate this most prestigest of all awards, he has given me this letter to read to the world. "ATTENTION MY FELLOW SONS AND DAUGHTERS: I am deeply sorry that you could not experience what it is like to be in the presence of me..THE GREAT ONE! My congrats go to Pat, Lou, and Chris for their determination of trying to be like me (which we all know is impossible). The quickness they showed out on the battle field in order to save themselves and others reminded me of the strength and courage I had when I decided to institute the Leaf Rule. He constantly becomes depressed any time that the idea of growing up is presented to him, and he seems to always be happiest when he is in the presence of children. What he says to Pheobe about being the "Catcher in the Rye" shows his naieve and simple views of children, feeling that he needs to "catch" them before they get too close to adulthood. This is also why I think that the profantiy that he saw written on the walls in places that children were most likely the culprits had such an impact on him and soon led to his total breakdown. I would certianly say that, in his own right, Holden is innocent. Yes, he does some not-so-innocent things, such as drinking, smoking, and swearing, but in a lot of cases, I cannot help but to feel that it is mostly a mask that he puts on to not let people know how he reallly thinks and feels, and acting this way helps him to blend in with society. I think that it is a very important part of Holden's character that he really seems to have this idea that children are all genuine, pure, and innocent. I think that he misses being able to act that was and misses being around others who are that way as well. His ill thoughts about most of the adults in the story and his poor outlook on the future show this, and the innocence of children is the last thing he has to grasp onto to keep him from a total breakdown.","dateCreated":"1221687300","smartDate":"Sep 17, 2008","userCreated":{"username":"aarone11","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/aarone11","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"5558804","body":"I agree with what Aaron just said. \nHolden makes me think of somebody who I would consider to be my friend, but who would talk about me behind my back all of the time. A lot of times, such as during his conversation with Mr. Spencer, Holden tries to speak to the person respectfully and is nice to them, but throughout those conversations, he adds in his own commentary about what the person said to him or did his presence that shows that he did not much respect for them. However, most of the resentment he holds for people is for reasons that make sense and usually have to do with their morals and generally mean habits.","dateCreated":"1220449053","smartDate":"Sep 3, 2008","userCreated":{"username":"aarone11","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/aarone11","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"5284727","body":"To me it seems like Holden is a bit full of himself and that everything he does is right and what everyone else does is wrong.
